  Trick or Treat?
As I am writing this, some people at my apartments are having a Halloween party in the building across the pool. It's still September people. I mean, if you had it tomorrow it wouldn't be so bad. At least it would be in October. And I though some people put up Christmas decorations too early.

Speaking of Halloween, I think this year I won't have any candy. So when a kid comes to the door and says "Trick or Treat!", I'll say "I don't have any treats, so you'll have to go with the trick." Let's see what happens when I call their bluff.

  Thanks for the Holiday
I am disappointed. No rain today, just clouds and some wind. But I've got to say, thanks Rita for giving us a holiday on Friday!

  MC
"A Mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems." - Paul Erdös

I've been forced to become a morning person this semester. Consequently, I need a daily fix of McDonald's coffee (MC). Now MC is not good. It's not hip. It's not gourmet. It doesn't even really have that coffee smell. But when I don't have my daily MC, I just end up staring at a blank sheet of paper.

With MC I can transcend time. Proofs flow effortlessly from my pencil. I hop on over to my office computer and type the results. I print, run up stairs to get the print-out. It's beautiful. I check the time, only one hour. Man I'm glad I drank two cups of MC today.
